Gritty, bloodsoaked and unsentimental, Loki Liddle’s debut work takes readers on a deranged road trip from Coolangatta to Broome. Along the way, he consumes and spits out western popular culture and connects to the voices of his Jabirr Jabirr ancestors, weaving past, present and fiction together in a surreal and unforgettable feature.

Loki Liddle

A proud Jabirr Jabirr poet and musician. He is the lead singer and songwriter of Gold Coast rock band Selve who made history recording their album Breaking Into Heaven at Abbey Road Studios in London. Loki has performed at events and venues such as HOTA, La Boit Theatre, Woodford Folk Festival, Horizon Festival, Brisbane Festival, Bleach Festival, he was the 2019 winner of the Nimbin Poetry Cup and has had a short story and a poem featured in the Griffith Review.

Through his band Selve Loki has toured nationally, internationally and has performed alongside artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Doechii, Archie Roach, Electric Fields, Megan Washington, Matt Corby and many more.

In 2025 he launched Breaking Into Heaven to a sold out audience by performing it live with a 33-piece orchestra as part of Bleach Festival.
