Ancestors look out for Birriga Bunaan
By Marion Williams
Magic happened at the Yuin Nation Birriga Bunaan.
The day before up to 400 millilitres of rain battered the far south coast of NSW. More was forecast for January 17. The Ancestors watching over thought differently.
As the dancing started on Tilba Oval patches of blue sky emerged.
During the Smoking Ceremony, organiser Uncle Warren Foster pointed a large flock of birds above.
“The ancestors are looking after us,” Uncle Warren said.
