Indigenous doctors gather in Nipaluna for a ‘cultural hug’
AROUND 400 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander doctors, medical students, specialists, nurses, researchers, Aboriginal health workers and colleagues turned out for the Australian Indigenous Doctors Association (AIDA) conference in Nipaluna/Hobart recently.
‘Our Sovereign Place in Health’ was this year’s theme. Over three days, delegates discussed and heard about the achievements, challenges and widespread impact of Indigenous people, acting on and within the health system.
